Final Project- Walkabout

bugs eye view-rough

Color/mood- love
I chose this photo for mood because its a grave stone that is very dark and sad. as the photo is dark and has an over baring amount of cold colors, the pop of pink and brightness shows how this person, even after death is loved. i also  think the flowers make the photo feel happy in an odd seance and brings peace to the photo.

formalism-wet

shallow depth of field- little

Expressivism- Stranger
for this photo I tried to express sadness mainly with self image. I feel as though a lot of people struggle with some sort of self image at some point in their life. people take a long time to find happiness with how they look and struggle with the stranger on the outside of their bodies.

Texture-mess

rule of thirds- calm [extra photo]

leading lines - destruction

contrast in texture- cold

instrumentalism- yellow
for this photo I tried to get the message across in an odd way, of love nature over media or technology. we have lost sight of the earth and need to give mother nature love once again!!

Wet Plate Collodion Photography

wet plate photography was invented in 1851 by Fredrick Scott Archer. It was mostly used for portriats and became popular when soldiers sent photographs back to their families.  Wet plate collodion is made on glass. collodian mixture and silver nitrate make up the ink for the photo. Its a long process of developing and waiting for the photo to be perfect.

Cyanotype Photography
Cyanotype photography was invented by Sir John Herscheal. It was mostly used for documenting plants and for engineer plans. It was used alot by learning photographers. It was a much easier and less expensive way of photography. Its made by brushing  potassium ferricyanide and peroxide ferric amountium citrius green  onto a surface. Then it is left to dry in the dark to be framed and to dry again.

Gum bichromate photography
Bichromate photography was made by Mango Ponton. it is a mix of coloids and cromium salts.
the darker the print for gum bichromate the thicker the gum and the lighter is how close you are getting to the paper. to get a gum bichromate photo you must mix your substances together and then brush your photo with emolgin and set to dry in a dark room. Then you must develope your photo.

Layers and Multiple photos project

For this layer All the photos were taken in hawaii. I wanted to show What I saw there. as I was looking through the photos I noticed these photos stood out. I thought heck why not layer them. After I was done I was admiring the nice combination, when I noticed that the photos were three out of the four elements. Water, earth and air. So i guess you could say I layerd these photos for hawaiis natrual beauty and the elments that live on our earth!!!

All three of theses layered photos were taken in portland. Portlands beautiful and has so many unique aspects to it. As much as are city is a wonderful and dazling place, Its also lonly. I created this layer to resemble mental illness in a big city. I really enjoyed making all my layerd photos but this one is definitely the most meaningful.

Making this layer I was focused on color.  there is no real backstory on why I made this layer besides the fact that I liked the colors. Pink yellow and soft blue?!!!

This photo was taken in hawaii. Its a little wonky because I was'ent able to bring a tripod with me. on the plane. Even though the photo is'nt perfect I trhought I would still use it for its niceeeee sunset feels.

Texture Project 5
For my girids two abd three, I sorted it by color. i tried to do whit and blues for grid three, with dark undertones and browns and yellows for grid two with warm undertones. For grid one i sorted it by all natrual things that are in nature. nothing but nature and beauty.

Camera controls
to achive my motion photos i just had to make sure the flame was flickering or staying still in motion by having a higher or lowe shutter speed. For depth of field, I took my photos with a lower/aperture having all of the paint  in focus, or just the background.

For my first set of photos, I tried to make them more abstract.  I really only played with the contrast and brightness. I also turned up the red and turned down the blue hue. It made a nice eerie feel to the skeleton bones. I really liked the dark feel to the whole photo.
For my second edit, I worked with black  and white. When I first turned it black it was very bright still and over baring for the black and white tone.  I decided to turn down the properties including red, yellow and green creating the nice dark black and white.
For my third edit, I wanted to make it have more of a  halloween feel to it. For this photo I turned the cyan down -81 and the green up to 100. Then I messed with the brightness and contrast and lastly, turning down the reds to make the pinky shade in the inside of the bones.

For my first edit I tried to focus on reducing the bright whites  and giving it a nice evening feel to it. I turned down the brightness -66. Then I played with the offset and blue hue, witch gives the photo  the nice hazy effect.
My second and third photo had a very similar editing process. Editing my first photo made me realized I liked the photo in the black and white. The editing process was really just reducing the intense properties to the photo.

My orginal photo was very light. i wanted to see how it wold feel with a darker depth. i think it makes the photo seem more night like and calm. For my second edit I wanted to see how it felt in black and white. Its not my favorite edit, but i think it brings out the texture of the clovers. Last i edit the last clover phtoto to really  stand out. i played a lot with the tools to achive a kinda wacky feel to the picture. A more diffrent land kind of plant.

My original building photo was very pink. my camera tends to have a pink shade to my photos which causes the photos to be quite dark. my plan for my first edit was to lighten up the photo. all i did was go cyan and go down about -36. it turned out to be a little to blue so i turned the contrast down to about -29, and it was perfect.
For my second edit I went more heavy. I turned down both brightness and contrast, so the sky would have a deeper feel.  when i did this the photo was really blue so I turned both red and blue down. once it was at a nice tone, I turned the offset up a little bit. I liked how the photo was looking, but to add a finishing touch i turned down the yellow on the photo to about -29.
For my last edit, my black and white edit I wanted to make it feel very dark. i turned down the brightness about 50%. then i reduced the exposure and aded the black and white. It was still a little to light so I turned down the blue and reds a lot. Lastly i turned up the greens and got the dark clouds and building you see now.
